The New Year is considered a starting over point. We can crack the spine open of our new notebooks, feel confident that we can start over or even create a new us. But we forget...We forget that as children of God, everyday is a day to start over. Through the grace of God we can treat each day like new-sins forgiven, second chances, an opportunity to try again. Through the waters of baptism I am made clean everyday.
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and put a new and right spirit within me.
~Psalm 51:10
Hi! I came over from My Freshly Brewed Life. I love this verse! Actually all of Psalm 51, I love. How true, every day is another day live with a clean slate, a chance to love Him more.

Amen! Every time we confess our sins to God, He forgives and chooses to remember our sins no more. Each time He gives us a new start!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great reminder for the new year!
In Christ,
Laura
Thank goodness. If we only got to start over once I year I would be toast.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Lindy! Happy New Year and New Day!
Yes and Amen! "Create in me a clean heart, Lord". Thanks so much for linking up today! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteOh, you are so right. Because of His great mercy, every day is a new beginning, not just January 1st.
ReplyDeleteI love this verse. I pray that God will continue to create in me a clean heart, every day.
