I would call our open house on Sunday a success! We had some wonderful people over to eat cookies and drink cinnamon apple cider. My boys were so well behaved and the house looked pretty darn good! Here is what I have been up too getting ready. I know I promised some recipes and they are coming.
Our Christmas decorations. My mom bought me the Merry Christmas sign with the 4 stocking. Just perfect for us. Our advent candles and the Boppers Advent calendar. Our stocking which I hung above the fire place using oversized clothes pins. My new favorite thing is the command picture holders! Just like the hooks only no hook. I was able to attach them to the wall and the back of the large clothespins and my stocking have been hanging for weeks. I have a small tree with lights, fruit, and a star on it. One legend of the Christmas tree is attributed to Martin Luther and this is our "real" Christmas tree. I made a ton of cookies and we had plenty left over to take to a Christmas gathering that evening.

The open house also gets me to do things around the house that aren't part of Christmas but need to be done. I had waited way to long to finish the boys' play room. I finally got all of their Cardinals gear up on the walls. (My dad will probably refuse to play in there when he comes to visit...:)) I also hung a frame I've had since August. I needed a large basket for our mitten and hats and found some forgotten peach crates in the garage. I also managed to finish a craft in time for my MOPS gift exchange. I would like a nap now...
