We hosted our annual council supper last night (for the second year in a row. Does that make it annual yet?). We like to have the councils from both churches over as a thank you for serving for the past year before our annual meetings next week. It's a lot of work, but I think it's kind of fun. I like having parties and having people over so it's not a "chore" for me. As usual I forget to take pictures, but when you're expecting 20 people to show up you forget little things like that.
We served 4 soups, salad, wine, and I made 4 cheesecakes. I thought it was all yummy. Since this is the second year I had just enough of everything. We can have leftovers for a few more days and then it will all be gone. We are still slowly cleaning up, but my wonderful husband took care of a few things this morning. He let me "sleep in" for an hour. Let's rephrase that "I took a nap" for an hour. Martin got up at his usual time. He then watches a show in our bed eating a graham cracker and milk that I get him. So really I'm pretty much up. I just didn't have to get out of bed until 9! While I was sleeping my hubby (with his bum toe from dropping an eight foot table on it) put all the folding chairs against the wall and put down the 2 tables and picked up the Christmas train from around the tree! Whew. Way to go hubby!
Now I've run the dishwasher two more times and will need to hand wash a few things. Then just pick up and put Christmas things away! It was a good weekend.
