TOT- Steven Curtis Chapman

Really, this TOT is mostly about one Steven Curtis Chapman song, Do Everything.  I heard Chapman and his wife speak and sing at our MOPS convention.  It was very powerful.  They were genuine and down to earth.  They spoke of losing their daughter in a tragic accident a few years ago and how that has changed their lives and strengthened their faith.  It was one of the best speakers of the weekend.

The song is a reminder that we are all called to be the person God wants us to be, not what others believe we should be.  It reminds us that everything we do is an expression and answer to the call that God loves us.

Your picking up toys on the living room floor for the 15th time today
Matching up socks
Sweeping up lost cheerios that got away

You put a baby on your hip
Color on your lips and head out the door

While I may not know you,
I bet I know you
Wonder sometimes, does it matter at all?

Well let me remind you, it all matters just as long
As you do everything you do to the glory of the One who made you,
Cause he made you,
To do
Every little thing that you do
To bring a smile to His face
Tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And every little thing you do

Our story of grace has only one thing in common, Christ's death on the cross.  Our stories all look different.  Again, we always struggle with what that story should look like in comparison to others and that just doesn't work.   We need to tell our own stories of grace and in every little thing we do.
