4 Miler

I ran a 4 mile road race this morning.  Whoa, it was an early  morning and I'm exhausted.  My goal was under 40 minutes and I finished in 37:27.  I was very excited.  I was just outside of the top half for my age group (of which I'm only in for a few more weeks until my birthday) and I was in the top half for all women running.  I'm anxious to run 2 more races this summer.  I'm hoping to find a 3rd to train before the Oktoberfest run in October.  I must decide if I'm running the 10K or half marathon.  This will make a difference in my training!

I've been working on some crafty projects lately!  I made this scarf pattern twice now.  It's very fun and I like that it's not very wide and can be worn in the spring or fall or winter.  I made a darker green one as a gift for my sister's mother-in-law and then this one.  This yarn was tricky!  I think it's more of a sock yarn but I found it in the dollar bin somewhere and bought 3 skeins of it.  I had to hold two strands together to get anything that resembled a clean stitch.

Joann One Skein Scarf

These were just hats I made up.  I bought 3 or 4 skeins of this blue yarn somewhere.  It would be great for a boy baby blanket, but I just wasn't patient enough.  Blue and black (and silver) are the school colors here.  I thought it would be appropriate to make a few hats then.  I will probably put them on the table I will get at the fall women's expo and maybe donate one to our church bazaar!

Speaking of church bazaar.  I should probably embroider some tea towels soon.  Those go fast!

  1. Exciting meeting your goal! I was just thinking this am that it would be nice to work towards an exercise goal...b/c I don't love to exercise. Maybe the goal would motivate?
