3D Your Whole Life

I'm working through this book.  3D Your Whole life a plan for eating right, living well, and loving God.  It is the Christian counter to weight watchers and other diet plans.  I have enjoyed it.

I like the daily journal that I fill out keeping track of my eating, activity, whether I read my devotion and exercised.

I also am enjoying the devotions in the book.  This first week we have been reading about faith.  The memory verse was "Be still and know that I am God."  (Psalm 46:10)  Anyway I was just really excited about the few things I read.  Here is my summary!

  • Pray the Lord's Pray quick.  Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.  What?  Say it again.  I just finally realized that I was thinking of it backwards.  I'm praying that the Lord forgives my sins as I forgive others.  So those things I harbor in my heart, the secrets, the things I won't let go of or forgive are keeping me from God.  If I want God's forgiveness and his "forgetfulness" of my sins, I better step up to the plate and truly pray that I do that to those in my life.  (Is this new to anyone else?  Where was I in confirmation on this day?  Maybe we didn't discuss it!)
  • In 1 Kings 20:26-30 The Syrians are thinking that "The Lord is god of the hills but he is not god of the valleys" (v. 28b)  The author of my devotion says "The Syrians made a big mistake in thinking that God was not in the valley.  Apparently they respected his power on the hills, but thought they could get away with whatever they chose when it came to fighting in the valleys.  This limited scope in their vision would prove to be their undoing."  I have to admit that could describe me sometimes.  The attitude of God doesn't care about this or that.  I can get away with that.  I do other good things.  Just this one time mentality can get me into trouble.  If God is Lord over my whole life than there is no place he is not.
  • Finally, Isaiah 49:11a And I will make all my mountains a way.  It's not just those mountain top experiences with God.  If we live for those, we will be disappointed for most of our days.  The whole mountain is God's.  The whole journey to get to that moment at the top is for God, with God, and by God.  There will be joys along the way and trials, and hard work.  Those are what makes the top so wonderful.  The whole journey!
I'm excited to keep trying this book and the plan.  Next week I really need to focus more on the exercise part.  It's been harder with the cold weather and the Bops not napping much anymore.  I truly have enjoyed my readings this week though.
