First Craft!

These magnetic notepads were our first MOPS craft project this year.  I found the idea at Crafts Direct, my favorite store.  I don't think the instructions are online but it was so easy!  We love doing easy crafts at MOPS that we can do while sitting with our groups and talking.  Here's what we did.

1.  Head to your local office supply store and buy some of those small legal notepads.  Then, have the store cut them vertically.  I went to Office Max and bought the generic pads.  They charged per cut but she was able to do two notepads at once.

2.  Cut a double sided piece of scrap booking paper into a 3 inch strip.  Line it up on your notepad so you can fold a little over the top to cover the binding.  Then trim it to about 9 1/2 or 10 inches long!

3.  Mod podge the notebook only and center it on the paper.  Add some mod podge to the binding on the front of the notepad and fold the paper over.  Add a little embellishment to the front and a magnet to the back!  Use a clothes pin to hold the top down until the mod podge dries.

4.  Hang your pretty little pad on your fridge or your friend's fridge.

  1. Hi! Found you thru VeraAndthegirls blog (I think!)...I love your sweet heart and have scrolled through your blog and feel like I could have written so many of your posts myself, knowing exactly how you feel as a mom, wife, etc...You know when you read some blogs, you just "get it" as you read. I did MOPS years ago when my older two were little and was in charge of crafts, and I just had to laugh when I saw the notepads, thinking "that would have been great! (and better than so many lame ones I came up with!!haha) MOPS was such a blessing to me and I keep up with some of the moms still. I look forward to "getting to know you" through Google reader!
    Blessings,
