Cool huh? This is one of the Katogo Bangle bracelets from my Bead for Life box.
I learned about BeadforLife a few years ago. Their mission statement says it all "BeadforLife creates sustainable opportunities for women to lift their families out of extreme poverty by connecting people worldwide in a circle of exchange that enriches everyone."
BeadforLife connects women in Uganda with others around the world who are willing to buy their jewelry. These women spends hours rolling these tiny beads out of old magazines and papers. They are taking the money and using it to build better lives for their families and start other businesses. What drew me to the company was not only the lovely jewelry and opportunities it creates for mothers in Uganda, but also how easy it was to help. You host a party! Who doesn't love a party. This weekend I'm hosting my "party" at my church bazaar. I signed up on BeadforLife's website and they sent me a box full of wonderful jewelry. I counted it and set up the information they gave me. Now all I do is sell it. I then send the check and any unsold jewelry back to them with a postage paid box.
So, because it's so easy and because I love the company, I am giving away one of the Katogo Bangle bracelets to you! I just want to spread the word. I'd love for you to check out their website. You don't have to host a party, you can just order online. Or, you can host a simple party and help yourself and your friends get some really neat Christmas gifts for others. The jewelry is reasonably priced and comes in many styles-bracelets, long and short necklaces, chunky beads, tiny beads, etc.
To enter the giveaway, just leave me a comment. The icing on the cake would be if you would hop over and check out BeadforLife's website and then pass the word on. I will leave the giveaway open until Wednesday the 27th! The bracelet you win might not be the one pictured, but similar. Each one is unique and wonderful!
BeadforLife has no idea who I am. I just sign up to do parties with them. They are not paying me to advertise for them or compensating me in this giveaway. I bought bracelet and am passing it on to one of you. Thank you!
Oh, so neat! I used to roll magazines to make beads for necklaces and loved it--but I don't think mine ever looked quite this nice. Off to check out the website!
