Honestly...
I have to be honest. Sometimes I tend to over think things. I look for the theological connection way too much. Not that God isn't everywhere and in everything. I just tend to forget the simple truths that I know. Yesterday we were driving into town and I was thinking about things and looking for connections. I was pondering and thinking I should blog about this or that. In the end though I had to ask myself...What do you honestly carry with you? What truths do I honestly carry with me every day about my faith? I can make millions of connections but in the end what do I honestly remember. What comes with me each and every day. I honestly remember...
It's Psalm 51:10. I honestly have carried this with me since I could read. Since I understood liturgy at our church. We say this almost every week depending on what setting we use. I can say I have heard this since before I was born. I make the connection between the forgiveness of my sins and the love of God, honestly.

"Never will I leave you or forsake you" comes to me alot...also, just this morning I was reading "Lean not on your own understanding , but in all your ways acknowledge Him..." which seems like a verse that is used all the time and quoted often, but over the last year and a half and many life events, God has routinely brought me back to this verse asking me..."Where are you leaning on yourself? Are you REALLY acknowledging me in EVERYTHING? The answer was "lots of areas and no." Such a simple, overquoted verse, but life-changing truth if applied!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think the simple act of reading His Word, believing it...really believing it, and obeying it get lost in our efforts to do life on our own...then we come back to the Word and life makes sense again.
