Life has been going a million miles an hour lately. The wind has also been blowing and so we cut down another tree in the yard! Again, I didn't know it was coming and was a bit surprised by the big thud.
We started cross country practice this week. I'm so excited about the team. They have been great so far! I have a new runner that has been pushing me and she is a great girl. I'm running a little faster than I was before but still able to finish. They have asked to do a water workout and I'm excited to get them to the lake!
I finally finished part of a house project I wanted to get done. I have wonderful carpet that will keep your toes warm in the winter! The only problem is it is thick. Any little spill shows up and goes deep into the carpet. I have tried my carpet cleaner and it helps a little, but the same spots keep coming back. I found THIS recipe for carpet cleaner and decided to try it. I think it worked pretty well. I did it last night and am waiting to see what it looks like in a few days. Next time I will probably use less soap. I also realized that it might be the rinsing that gets me. With the carpet being so deep I ended up doing the soap, a vinegar rinse, and then just regular water in the carpet cleaner. Takes a while, but maybe it will work this time!
I'm also working hard at getting ready for the MOPS year. We had a meeting yesterday and have decided on using shrinky dink for name tags. Have you tried shrinky dink? Amazing!!!!!!!! I'm not kidding. I found some at Jo-anns in the children's craft section and Martin loved it. I will have to order in bulk for the name tags. It's some really fun stuff!
Along with that, I'm working on turning this post into a devotion for our next meeting. I've never really done that, but I'm excited to try. We took a spiritual gifts inventory at our first meetings and I wasn't surprised with the results. I'm more gifted to be a leader and a teacher. I'm anxious to see what comes out of this. I've been praying about coming up with some good bible passages to tie into it. I have never felt like a writer, but blogging has really changed that. Come on Holy Spirit.
Now I'm off to find a lost toy. Where did you go Super Why?
The first sentence in this post totally sums up my life this week too! It's been awesome but just so busy!
ReplyDeleteYay for the Lord helping you to see where your strengths are! So excited for you and I know the Lord is going to use you in a great way! Wish I loved closer so I can be a part of your MOPS group. Hoping I fit in when our MOPS starts! :)
