This is a little preview of Martin's Day of St. Nick gift, which is going to turn into a Christmas gift. I really wanted to have it done by the Day of St. Nick (Dec. 5th) but have decided that is a little much. I love working on it, but I want to give myself the time to do it right.
If you notice how many times I change colors you will realize I have a lot of ends to tie in. I would have done it as I went, but couldn't decide the best way to hide them. In the end I think I will hide them within the border I am going to do around it. I know I could probably get the body of it done, but wanted to give myself enough time to do a good job at the finishing part. I usually get the main stuff done and then try to rush the finishing and I have found that finishing makes the piece. So I will think of something else ot make Martin for Day of St. Nick. It will probably involve a new photo album or something he can take to church to keep him busy!
In the mean time, I finished this scarf to take a break from Martin's project. I have a gift exchange and thought I could just make my gift. I got a cute little box to put it in and I hope someone will enjoy it. I love working on two projects at once to keep myself from getting bored. I have a little baby blanket to finish and then I will probalby start another scarf in the midst of my work on Martin's project. I have a few other projects I also want to get done before Christmas (hopefully before the open house we have scheduled) like paper Christmas trees for my shelf. I am anxious to see how those turn out!
