Taco Soup

So I have a confession to make which will probably cause some real "chefs" out there to think I'm crazy.  I made a soup without following a recipe and it was not as satisfying as I thought.  The soup tastes great and I'm glad I got to use up some of my taco meat that I made a few days ago, but I thought it would be more satisfying to have a recipe on the spot turn out so well.  I guess it's just my personality but I would much rather follow a recipe and have it turn out than the other way around.

That got me thinking...isn't that they way it is sometimes with our relationship with God?  Something can turn out great, but not feel as satisfying if it was not done with prayer and a conscious thought of what God would want in our lives.  Not everything done without God always turns out bad.  My soup tastes great, but for me I would rather have followed a recipe.  A project in my life might turn out great, but if it wasn't done with prayer and I did it without a thought of God then it probably is going to be missing something.  That's food for thought!
