I have also started using the kitchen table as my sacred space in the morning. I make sure it's clean and ready to go before I head to bed and it's a really inviting spot for me when I wake up. I started reading the book of Joshua and working my way through a weekly devotion on women of the bible. It also gives me time to put together my weekly bible study at church and my ladies bible study on Monday. I feel a lot more relaxed. I still don't like cleaning the kitchen, but if feels like less work when I do it after every meal and baking project.

The kitchen goes a long way...
I have found that keeping the kitchen clean sure goes a long way in keeping me sane. In the last week I have found if the kitchen is clean when I come home from running errands I'm not as stressed about the things I have to get done. I am also less stressed by the mess in the rest of my house. Not that it's out of control, but the dining room table has been an art project desk and the buffet is housing a whole lot of junk, but as long as the kitchen is clean that's okay. I guess I'm learning my lesson to just keep up with it. Cleaning the rest of the house is easy if I don't have to worry so much about the kitchen.
