I've given myself a goal. A big one. I'm going to crochet every blanket in my new crochet book that I have. I love crocheting, but this is a fairly big project. It takes me about 2 months to finish a baby blanket and longer for a regular sized afghan. I will keep you updated on this new challenge.
I've been leading a bible study at church recently on spiritual practices. It's nice that I can use my crocheting as a way of being spiritually fulfilled; to be still and pray. The book we are using for some of the study is "SoulTypes". It takes a modified version of your Myers-Briggs personality inventory and helps you discover certain types of spiritual practices that will bring you the most fulfillment. It's been very interesting. The spouses at Wartburg studied it my senior year so I've been having fun going back over it and seeing what has changed in my answers and what new things look interesting to me. We will see where it goes from here. The study started as a study on the Psalms, but morphed into a study on spirituality. We are still using the Psalms as they are a way to pray. This week we'll be using the Psalms and Mandalas. "Coloring" mandalas is one of my favorite spiritual activities because it gives my multi tasking mind two things to do, but only one thing to truly focus on and that's prayer.
I remember when we did the mandalas in FWS. I really enjoyed them.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to blogspot! I'm addicted to reading blogs so I'm sure I'll be reading.
ReplyDeleteHi I actually found your blog from clicking on my occupation (stat at home mommy) from my profile. I was wondering how to find other peoples blogs and I guess that is one way to do it. I found your blog very interesting and that we have quite a few things in common. My husband is a minister at the church we attend.
ReplyDelete"I am a pastor spouse whatever that means to you" I love that...I am questioned all the time about being a ministers wife. Hope to talk with you soon.
