Here are some awesome things I've found since the start of 2014...people, stop keeping secrets!
The Weekly Budget app. I love this. I'm still getting the hang of it, but I'm not giving up! It's not hard, just tricky with remembering when things are automatically taken out of my account etc.
Toca Boco apps. My kids are in love! I think I even heard Daddy arguing with them that it was his turn to play! It came in handy since day number 11 (the final day...) of my husband's trip to the Holy Land involved a snow day for me and the kiddos! It was totally worth the $2.99 for the train game.
Moogly Blog- okay crochet people...where has she been my whole life? Great tutorials, great free patterns. All around really great website! I'm working on a car seat blanket using one of her stitch patterns.
A little update from my 14 things in 2014...
14. Do the declutter in 2013 challenge from Slow Your Home.
I'm slowly working through January. She just put out a little booklet for 2014. I'm hoping the challenges are all the same.
13. Get a handle on the yarn stash.
Done! This might be something I have to do multiple times during the year, but I have done it. I tossed some yarn (a tragedy, I know) and donated some to my mother in law's prayer shawl ministry. What is left is things I can actually use!
12. Crochet a real granny square blanket.
I have a few projects to finish, but have been spending lots of time looking at patterns. I don't know how I want to join them and what the color scheme I want to use is. It's been fun!
11. Pay off the car.
Well, it's only been 20 days into the new year. Unless I won the lottery this hasn't happened yet!
10. Reread and finish reading books I just found on my kindle/shelves. Books include Pastrix, Holding Your Family Together, Money Secrets of the Amish, and Inside-Out Simplicity.
I'm remembering to read more everyday. I have taken back control of my kindle! :) I was picked to review a book from one of my favorite blogger/authors, so stayed tuned! I'm anxious and excited to finish it and write about it.
9. Do one thing on my Minnesota bucket list. *Hello Duluth or Itasca State Park and other state parks*
Found my Duluth visitors guide. I think we will be able to cross Duluth off our list this summer!
8. Finish the kids books of yearly pictures and update their baby books.
Haven't even started. I need a weekend alone with my computer to get this done!
7. Run a 10K in under an hour.
I've been running at a 6+ mph on the treadmill consistently. Not for an hour yet, but we are slowly getting there. The weather is not cooperating with outdoor running right now!
6. Do something special for our 10 year anniversary.
My hubby reads my blog! I wonder if he will come up with something. We have a few more months.
5. Send out Easter cards (since we missed Christmas...)
I have been looking. I even checked the calendar. Must take pictures before Lent starts.
4. Throw a "friends" birthday party for each of the boys.
We have picked Transformers for the February birthday party! I can't wait.
3. Read a devotional *frequently*. Let's be honest, every day sounds great, but I'm being real.
Yes! It's not perfect or pretty. Sometimes it's while the boys are watching the TV or playing. It's not my quiet time, but it's getting done.
2. Slowly start to help/do things at church/MOPS again. *Being pregnant and having a baby was tough work!*
I managed to do our council supper for church. Tacos for 18 people is super fun! We will see what I decide to do. Lots of prayer as I start to move from "no's" and doing less to "yes's" and adding things in.
1. Pray for my kids and husband everyday!
I found really cool printables at iMOM. I hung this one above my changing table so I can pray for my family and kids every time I change diapers!
