Blizzard Hats!

Around Easter time I started making the boys their spring hats.
We shall call them winter hats #2.  Pretty sure we got 1 or 2 (or a dozen) more snow storms after I made them.  It seems like it's officially spring now and the boys are enjoying their new freedom outside.  It's still chilly so we like to have our hats on!

This is Brain Waves from Playin' Hooky!
Both were stash busters.  You can't see, but in the back I ran out of blue yarn about 3 stitches before the end.  Have to attach the green, but nobody will ever know!

This is the Pop A Color Beanie from Mamachee.
Another great stash buster and easy to change the pattern to suit your taste.
I ran out of gray yarn about 3 rows before the end.  So I just added 3 more stripes and away we go.
This was my first attempt at a hat worked in a rectangle and then sewn up.  I thought it worked pretty well.  I would rather crochet hats in a round though.  I find it easier to get the sizing right.  I do have the little gadgets to make the pompoms.  I might add one to the pop a color hat sometime.

  1. Those are really cute! I like the colors. I have the Brain Waves pattern but haven't tried it yet.
