Alpaca Family

These lovely scarves are actually done now!  I passed two of them off to their rightful owner.  I have a few balls of our local alpaca yarn left to make something out of.  Through a few connections I met the lady who raises alpacas outside of town.  The boys love visiting her big barn and seeing the mpacas as my son calls them.  She gave me some yarn just to see what I could come up with!  She will sell my things at shows along with yarn and other wool products.

The is a 3 ply that was woven with wool from a baby and his mama!  The darker color is the mom and the lighter color is the baby.  I think the baby was named Sullivan.  The owner can tell just by looking at the the yarn which animal it was.

I forgot this guys name.  I really enjoyed this pattern.  I love the spiral scarves, but I like the irregularity of this pattern.  It makes it easier to wear in my opinion.

The pattern for the first scarf can be found here.  (I just suggest downloading the whole magazine.  It has great stuff in it!  That issue was amazing.)

The twisty one was found here.

I was able to make both of these with one skein of yarn each.  I call that successful.  I am going to make another twisty one out of some yarn I have waiting for a project.

Up next?

I'm almost done reading a book that I'm going to review for you on this blog.  Stay tuned because I have a copy to give away.....

Linking up at these lovely places today!
