TOT- Sara Groves

In college we always had a BOTM- Band of the Month!  A group of friends would nominate cool new bands they had been listening to and then Ben would post it on his website.  I don't think we've done it forever.  Ben, why is that?!?!?!

I'm on of those music people who listens to the same song/CD over and and over and over again until I'm sick of it.  Then I switch to something else.  I thought I would chronicle my favorite artists on my blog every week.  We'll call it Tunes on Tuesdays- TOT!

Music really sticks with me.  I can hear a song or listen to a CD and it can bring back powerful emotions for me.  Sometimes it's the lyrics or just knowing what was going on at the time.  For example, I can rarely listen to Mat Kearney without crying.  That was the CD we bought just before my grandma passed away.  The songs fit that time in my life.  I thought listing the things I'm listening to on my blog will actually add to the diary effect of this blog.  So...our Tunes on Tuesday artist is...

Sara Groves

I'd heard of her in college and probably listened to a few of her songs.  I just recently met her at the MOPS convention in Nashville.  She's actually from Minnesota and was a history teacher for my friend Michelle in high school.  Talk about a small world.  When she signed our CDs she even remembered Michelle's name.  I'm fairly certain that's "Minnesota Nice" for ya!

I bought her CD Fireflies and Songs because I loved a couple songs she performed at her concert during the MOPS convention.  She has a new CD coming out sometime in October.  It might be worth a purchase for me.

I've been listening mostly to the songs Twice As Good and Setting Up The Pins.  They are on my "great mom" playlist!  Here is her song Twice As Good.
