Whoa! My wonderful little son just slept for 15 hours. I'm not joking! This is unusual. My kiddos are more of the 10 to 12 hour sleepers. The little man felt warm when I left the house yesterday afternoon so I gave him some tylenol and hoped that maybe he was getting a few teeth. While the bunny look with two bottom teeth is cute, he's getting a bit older and could use some more chompers! I came home and he laid down at 3 for his nap....and didn't wake up. He got up a little around 5 and took two swallows of juice and fell back asleep in my arms. Then, I woke up him up 9:30 to at least change his diaper and offer him a drink. I assumed the worst when he fell right back asleep...I could see 3am in my future. Nope, not a peep until 5:50 this morning! Now he's wide awake and happy as a little clam.
We were about a dollar short and a day late with getting our pool set up! Monday and Tuesday the temperatures topped out near 100+ degrees. Then Wednesday our high was at midnight and by the time I left the house, my car read 65 degrees. Um, I about needed my winter coat after that 30 degree temperature change. It was just lovely yesterday. Except my preschooler really wanted to swim. Um, it was 65 degrees?!?!?! So I let him. He ended up slipping and falling and then was ready to go in, but he smiled for most of his time in the water!
We've been going into town everyday this week. I'm actually kind of tired of it, but it's been good. The preschool we have been going to on Fridays is doing a week long summer session. We can't go to all the sessions but this one on water looked fun and we were around. I got to watch him play yesterday while he didn't know I was around. How sweet is that? I just love watching him learn and play with his buddies.
I made a few June goals (Kelle Hampton challenged us to do them) and am getting them done. I've taken 3 bags to Goodwill and have a box of baby clothes ready to send to a friend. That means I've cleaned out 4 totes. You heard me! 4 Empty totes. What to do? Not buy more stuff. I'm also stash busting through my yarn. I don't think I've bought yarn yet this month! I've made a few cute things, but I'm anxious for the next big project. I have some potholders to finish, a shawl for the hospice group at our hospital and a few more hats and scarves. I've asked to stop at Lion Brand Yarn Studio in NYC when I go again later this month to see my sister. I have a project in mind and it will require new yarn.
That's all I've got this morning at a little after 6am. It's time to get moving and ready for preschool again! The weather looks a little cloudy, but I see a run in my future and a date night out with my MOPS small group (including our husbands!).
