Top 10 Things for my weight loss!

These are a few things that have gotten me through this whole "diet" thing.  They are also my favorite things that I will carry with me now that this is a lifestyle!

1.  Skinny Taste- I love this website.  You will see some of my favorites in the top 10.  The whole website is great.  Not only does she do both the old weight watchers points and the new ones for each recipe, she also includes all of the nutrition information.  Some of our most recent favorite are Chicken Pot Pie Soup and Cheesy Zucchini Enchiladas.

2.  Crock Pot Santa Fe Chicken- I have made this recipe more than once.  It is yummy as leftovers and is great frozen.  The portion size is enormous.  It tastes great with whatever you've got to put it on, rice, chips, or tortillas.  (Our favorite is with baked tortilla chips).  I usually put a little sour cream on mine, but I don't change this recipe at all!

3.  Diet Soda Cupcakes-  I know I know, if you are really eating healthy these would not be for you.  But, if you need a great treat that isn't too many points this is the one.  My favorite is devils food cake mix with Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper and a little cool whip!

4.  Dark Chocolate Raspberry Ice Cream Bars-  Yummy!  Found these at the grocery store.  They are a little pricey, but you get 12 in a box.  That lasts me almost two weeks.  I'm a night time snacker.  I need a snack after the boys are in bed and it needs to be a something sweet as a reward for getting to bed time!


5.  Okay, enough food!  This work out video got me through the tough winter!  Jackie will kick your rear!  The 30 minute work out is a winner!

6.  My running shoes.  The Asics Gel Nimbus 12!  Except for one pair of shoes I have usually had my running shoes fit for me at a specialty store.  It's the way we did it in high school and I know a good pair of running shoes can take you a long way!  


7.  My ipod.  Nothing fancy, but it does the job.  I have two different play lists.  Right now my favorite running tunes are a few show tunes from Wicked (which I will be seeing again this summer in NYC) and a few songs from the newest Dave Matthews Band CD.  

8. Target's work out pants.  Finally, I can buy exercise clothes that are actually long enough in a store for a reasonable price.   

9.  Weight Watchers Online.  Holding me accountable, teaching me things, and helping me celebrate the little milestones!   

10.  My family!  I love that my hubby hears me come into the bathroom on Sunday mornings and asks me how I did.  He will eat anything I want to try.  We have worked out a way for us both to get exercising in and have made it a priority!  It's actually be a fun journey!

  2. Keep up the good work. You are inspiring me to do better at eating healthier food and exercising. I need to make it a priority, but at the end of the day I'm so tired that I just want to veg. Thanks for sharing all of your tips!

  4. I run in Asics Gels too! Best shoes ever, in my opinion :) Dark chocolate and raspberry...awesome combination!
