My sister is getting married! In less than 50 days (the last time I heard an official count). I have been working on her ring bearer box (which my crazy toddler will not be carrying). This has interrupted my work on their wedding throw. I must buckle down now and keep crossing crafty things off my list.
Here it is! I bought one of those wooden picture frame boxes, paint, thread, and a fat quarter of fabric at my mega craft store. (I love Crafts Direct! You would be jealous if you saw it!) I painted it purple and then worked on the embroidery. Sorry the quality isn't good on the photos. There is not a single ounce of sunlight shining in Minnesota today so I had to use the flash. This was my second attempt at the front of the box. Who knew the monogram "jCs" doesn't look very good embroidered? Anyway, I embroidered it and then took the back of the frame off and covered it in some batting and the fabric. My trusty stapler took care of the rest.
I'm still unsure of the pillow part. Right now, it's just some batting covered in the fabric. Nothing is holding it down. I might look for some foam or an actual pillow at the craft place this week. I also might use some ribbon to cover the edges of the fabric on the top of the box and then pin some ribbon on the pillow for holding the rings down. The inside was the trickiest part. I didn't want the staples showing when it's opened. It would work if we had to use it tomorrow. Since I have a little time I might make the inside even better!
