I did it again, I put a can of Dr. Pepper and a cup of bbq sauce in the crockpot! Sound funny? Maybe, but it is so yummy. The recipe I found says you can do it with any meat. We've been sticking with pork. (We eat a lot of ground beef other days). The first time I did it with pork chops, this time I did it with a pork roast. In a few hours, I will take it out, shred it, and put it on some buns. I will then mourn for a minute because we are out of Blues Hog bbq sauce until Thanksgiving. I will put my second favorite bbq sauce on the bun, Cookies and we will eat it up!
So, to recap!
One Cup BBQ sauce + 1 can Dr. Pepper + crock pot + seasoned meat= Delicious.
In other news, my wonderful hubby is taking The Boppers to ECFE tonight. (Early Childhood and Family Education at our local school). This means I can work on a few more projects for the bazaar at church. Stayed tuned to see what I have come up with. Some involve a sewing machine (fairly new concept for me).
The Boppers and I started laundry today! So far, no loads are done. Oh well. We're having fun playing in the tent and knocking down blocks with Chewy.
PS, I think I just found that I can order Blues Hog online. This is shaping up to be a great day (until I go pay for my new windshield, maybe I can save that for tomorrow).
Will have to try this! I don't have many crockpot things I love. Is it "sweet" with the Dr P? Blues Hog...what type of BBQ sauce is that? We are picky, too on sauce!! Is it vinegar based or other?
