Missing: One Yard Stick

Do you see it back there behind my little sleeping babe?  My wonderful yard stick.  I have never owned my own yard stick.  Not a big deal except I found myself needing one recently.  I'm getting a little more crafty and could use something more substantial than a 12 inch ruler.

My need for a yard stick was answered at the one and only STATE FAIR!  Oh I love those free yard sticks.  I saw people all around carrying them.  I told my hubby we weren't leaving without one.  He rolled his eyes but knew I wasn't joking.  We looked and looked and couldn't find the free sticks.  Finally, my wonderful hubby asked some lady where she found her stick.  How sweet is he?

Then, because it's Minnesota and we are usually "nice" (the saying Minnesota nice does exist) she gave my hubby her extra stick in exchange for him taking a family photo of them at the state fair.  My day had been made.  Load up and lets go home!  HA!

Well, we finally did load up.  Me, my hubby, two kids, backpack, stroller, yard stick, our friends, their baby, and their big stroller into the bus.  We made it back to our parking lot and then unloaded everything.  We had a great day at the fair, me and my yardstick.

Yesterday, I needed my yard stick.  I was making scoring grids for my cross country meet tomorrow.  (say a prayer the rain holds off.)  I ran out to my car to get the yard stick out of the trunk.  I was sure we hadn't unloaded the car yet.  I couldn't find it.

Then it dawned on me...My precious yardstick was left on the state fair bus!  WHAT?!?!?!  I needed it.  Oh my yardstick.  So I sent my hubby the following text message at work.

We left my yardstick on the bus.  I want to cry.:((

So then I went to cross country practice hoping to run and forget about my sweet yardstick.  When guess what...My hubby came home from work, drove around to find us running, and stuck an awesome yardstick out the window!  HE BOUGHT ME A YARDSTICK.  I didn't even ask.

I love my new YARDSTICK.  I will figure out what I need to measure today with my new yardstick.

I love my hubby too.  A LOT!
