Some fun crafts

Today is my MOPS retreat!  I can't wait to leave.  We did have some scheduling conflicts so I do have to take the baby, but the toddler will go to daycare all day.  (Pray he naps for her).  It's so much fun to be with our group and get planning done along with lots of laughing and conversation.  We meet at the parents of our co-coordinator's house.  They live on one of the lakes with a beautiful view.  It does actually feel like a retreat.  Anyway, here are a preview of some of the crafts I'm working on for our year!

We wanted to emphasis prayer this year so we decided to make prayer journals at our retreat.  Super simple!  It's two 5 1/2 inch boards with rings in them and paper.  I covered the paper in mod podge and I think it will be pretty easy!  I did buy a xyron sticker machine and I love it.  It made the paper look a lot nicer sticking to the board and then easier to apply the mod podge.  The xyron that I got is a sticker machine, magnet maker and laminator.  I just have to buy the different cartridges and I can switch them out!  I've been really happy with it.  Now, if I can just save up for a cricut!:)

This project I found at crafts direct!  (Check out there project section for some awesome free ideas).  It is magnetic list pads.  (I still have to add the magnet).  You can buy the small legal sized notebooks and some office supplies stores will cut them in half for you.  Then just apply an adhesive (I used mod podge) to the back of the notepad and the binding on the front and apply double sided paper.  You will want to cut your paper a little wider than the note pad so you can see both patterns.  Add a little embellishment and a magnet and you've made your own grocery list pad!

  1. Your notepads look really cute. Cricuts are so neat, I hope you can get one. That's one of the things on my personal wish list. You should post the recipe for your blueberry buckle. I would love to try it.
