Finally, goals!

Finally I have figured out some goals.  I still feel very overwhelmed with all of the things going on right now with the start of the school year.  Sunday School lesson for this week is almost done.  I just need to buy supplies and hubby said he would get it to the teachers.  We are having trouble with the superintendent and it's really weighing on me.   She has decided she would like to help with another ministry at church which is great, but that leaves us a little high and dry. It is not something that i want to do.  I really enjoy writing the lessons most of the time.  There was suppose to be a writing team, but that didn't work out so it's just been stressful.

This week was also busy with cross country again and our first MOPS meeting.  We have two meets.  Luckily I am giving the runners tomorrow off and we are going to visit friends in North Dakota.  I need to get out.  I have actually enjoyed our two runs though this week.  I ran with them and feel pretty good when I get home.  I also can see a few of the runners getting better and being able to run longer.  Our MOPS meeting went well and I was super excited for all the moms that showed up, but it was a little crazy getting it all ready!

Martin has not been sleeping well which could be the cause for most of our stress.  He will sleep until sometime around 5ish.  He is just exhausted when he wakes up and will not go back to bed.  Only our hope is that tonight we can get him to bed around 7.  Then we just have to make it a point to go to bed earlier.

On to the fun stuff though.  My goals.  First, I'm going to read the bible everyday.  Nope, most days I don't do that.  I started leading my monthly bible study (more like a spiritual practice group) Wednesday and it went really well.  The nice thing is the book comes with daily readings on the topic of the month.  Very short readings nothing I can't do when Martin takes a nap.  My goal is to do it everyday until our next meeting.

Next, I'm going to read something non-fiction when I get done with my current book.  Probably a book I own either by Bonhoeffer or Nowen.  It doesn't have to be something long, just something to make me think.

One more is that i would like to clean up the dining room.  I have been using it as my craft space and that's not working well.  I was going to set up a craft space in the spare bedroom, but my folding table got banged up beyond use at the cross country meet.  So right now I just need to put it away.  I bought something really cute for the buffet at a craft fair and I would like to get it set up.

Finally I want to finish the crochet project for myself.  On our drive to ND tomorrow and the way home I have told hubby I'm going to crochet.  I will probably bring a magazine, but I just need to complete something.  So I'm really excited for these things.  I still need to get the kitchen and other house stuff clean, but that will come now that I'm feeling a little less stressed about stuff at church and cross country.  I'm really anxious to crochet tomorrow.  Finally, goals that make me excited!

  1. you can do it! Goals are so good! Once you make a goal and write it down it is definitely easier to do it! My husband and I try to read the scriptures together and seperately everyday and it is amazing the difference it makes in your day. I am just happier and just feel so much more spiritual when I get my daily dose of the scriptures. That is a great goal!
