Books!

The wind is blowing and it is starting to feel like fall here.  That always makes me think "new".  New things like school, school supplies, friends, etc.  I guess it's something you never get over.  In light of the darkness that is slowly creeping into our evenings and staying later in our mornings I have picked my next books to meet my goals.  I decided I wanted to read something non-fiction that makes me think.  I picked two books that I already own.  One I've read, one I haven't!  Here they are...I still have to finish my fiction book, but it moves quickly.

First, Joyce Rupps, The Cup of Our Life.  It's a guide for spiritual growth and I really enjoy her books.  I also enjoy thinking about my spiritual life.  When I say spiritual life I mean that quietness that comes over me so that I can listen to what the Holy Spirit has to say to me.  I have to continually work on finding that quiet spot in myself.  We'll see what this book has to say.

Finally, Henri Nowen's Life of the Beloved.  I've read it before in the Spiritual Practices class I took at the seminary.  A short read with a lot of heart.  I'm just anxious to do some thinking again and to be able to talk about it with my husband.

Now, if I can just get this last book finished so I can move on to these two!
